The Society bestows honors and provides opportunities for funding.


2021 Virtual Conference Attendance Awards

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and members, ARLIS/NA is offering multiple Virtual Conference Attendance Awards to support participation in the ARLIS/NA virtual conference which will take place May 11-13, 2021.

Distinguished Service Award

Honors an individual whose exemplary service has made an outstanding contribution to art information. 

George Wittenborn Memorial Book Award

Recognizes excellence in art publishing from the past year.

Gerd Muehsam Award

Annual recognition for an outstanding graduate student paper or project relevant to art librarianship.

H. W. Wilson Foundation Research Award

Supports the research activities of ARLIS/NA members.

International Relations Study Tour Scholarship

Provides funding and scholarly opportunities for an early-career ARLIS/NA member to participate in and contribute to the annual study tour abroad organized by the Society’s International Relations Committee (IRC).

Melva J. Dwyer Award

Rewards exceptional reference or research tools in Canadian art and architecture from the past year.

Robertson Rare Book School Scholarship

An annual award of tuition waiver for one course at Rare Book School at the University of Virginia.

Samuel H. Kress Foundation Award Recipients for International Travel

Recipients of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation Award for International Travel, 2013-2019.

Sotheby's Institute of Art Research Award

Research award for a paper on collecting and the art market.

Wolfgang M. Freitag Internship Award

Provides support for students preparing for art or architecture librarianship or visual resources curatorship.

Worldwide Books Award for Electronic Resources

Recognizes outstanding electronic publications by ARLIS/NA members.

Worldwide Books Award for Publications

Recognizes outstanding publications by ARLIS/NA members.
